The Government has issued detailed guidelines for filling the vacancies of Anganwadi Teachers (AWTs) and Anganwadi Helpers (AWHs) in Telangana. The recruitment will be conducted in a phased manner through an online software application developed by the Women Development & Child Welfare Department.

In the first phase, recruitment will be conducted for:

• Anganwadi Teacher (AWT) vacancies – All Areas
• Anganwadi Helper (AWH) vacancies – Tribal Areas only

Telangana Anganwadi Recruitment 2026 Eligibility

Candidates must satisfy the following conditions:

Must be a local woman.
Urban candidates should belong to the same Ward.
Rural candidates should belong to the same Gram Panchayat.
ST earmarked centres require ST candidates from the same habitation/hamlet.
SC earmarked centres require SC candidates from the same Gram Panchayat.

The Telangana Anganwadi Recruitment 2026 selection will be based on the following marks.

Reservation Rules

The recruitment will follow:

100-point roster system.
ICDS Project will be considered as the recruitment unit.
Reservation for SC/ST candidates as per Government Orders.
Reservation for Persons with Disabilities as per applicable rules.
Roster will continue from the previous recruitment cycle.
Promotion for Anganwadi Helpers

Up to 50% of Anganwadi Teacher posts will be filled through promotion of eligible Anganwadi Helpers who have:

Minimum 5 years of service
Required educational qualification
Good service record
Additional qualifications (if applicable)
Fulfilment of age criteria

The remaining vacancies will be filled through direct recruitment notifications.

The Women Development & Child Welfare Department will conduct the entire recruitment process through an online software application. The system will be used for:
